“Cloning & Linking Scale Patterns” by Sarah Spisak

This is a very simple and powerful tool for making the most of what you know. In this lesson we take the first octave of the Box One pattern of A minor pentatonic, clone it (make a copy) and link it to itself. This gives us a two-octave pattern that retains the contour (shape) of the first octave. There are several benefits here. First, it’s a shortcut to learning the fretboard. Second, we maintain the same fingering which links the hand, eyes and ears.
